OKI receives ISO 9001:2008 Certification
February 8, 2011 Offshore Kinematics, Inc. earned their initiation into the fraternity of ISO 9001:2008 certificate holders. Each employee takes pride in their dedication to developing, implementing and improving upon processes that lead to the successful completion of OKI’s projects. Each process owner has developed an efficient and effective procedure to successfully complete their job required tasks. This is a great step down the path of continual improvement, emphasizing OKI’s reliability, passion and dedication towards a job well done and customer satisfaction.
Since commissioning of OKI’s Test Press in 2010, OKI has completed nearly 500 tests, more than half of which are at loads exceeding 10,000 metric tons. This enormous piece of innovative testing equipment is a crucial part of OKI’s quality assurance and customer satisfaction. Every elastomeric component and assembly is full scaled tested prior to delivery, ensuring proper operation during the most critical stage of platform installation. Due to the nature of elastomers, OKI considered the full scale testing of delivered systems an essential part of any float-over installation project. We plan to utilize the press for internal and external R&D projects in the future.
To emphasize the importance of full scale testing, OKI is currently preparing a scale working model of the test press for its debut at OTC in May. This working model will feature a miniature Leg Mating Unit with a cut away window, showing the inner-workings of elastomer systems. This innovative display will not only serve as a display but as a functioning aid to show the capabilities of OKI’s products and testing equipment. The miniature test press construction and OTC show timing comes just as OKI wraps up the full scale testing of four LMUs each with a 10,000 ton capacity and prepares to kick-off construction of a recently awarded set of Deck Support Units.
