THE GUARDIAN SYSTEM

The Guardian System greatly reduces impact loads, typically by 50-75% over shock cells alone, by absorbing impact energy over the increased deflection provided by the EER.

SUPERIOR ECONOMICS

The Guardian saves jacket main steel by reducing impact loads imparted to the structure. Basic economic analysis has almost always shown that the additional cost of an EER is extremely small in comparison to the cost of the additional jacket steel otherwise required to accommodate the high impact loads.

The jacket main steel savings might be further increased when the Guardian is combined into a Pin-Mounted Boat Landing. In this design, all docking and boatlanding structures are mounted upon the energy absorbing Guardian System.

GUARDIAN DESIGN

The Guardian System comprises
a Shock Cell and EER mounted
in pairs to a contact column.

The EER provides soft contact
for incidental contacts during
docking. Shock Cell provides
increasing stiffness for impacts.
The unit itself is sacrificial in the
event of accidents to further
protect the jacket.

FLEXIBLE FUNCTION

On impact, the contact column transfers
load through the Shock Cells and EER's.
The energy is dissipated and the load reduced.

The EER's provide added flexibility to more
evenly distribute eccentric loads, while
increasing stroke and energy.
