SOFTWARE CAPABILITIES
Ocean
Dynamics has years of in-depth experiences on using the following engineering
software packages:
StruCAD
StruCAD is a general-purpose interactive, graphics-oriented system for
constructing, analyzing and designing three-dimensional structural engineering
models. It is one of the most popular tools for design and analysis
of space-frame type of structures, including deck, jacket, modules and
skids, etc
ANSYS
ANSYS is a general-purpose linear and non-linear finite element modeling
and analysis software suite. ANSYS has been widely used for structural
design and analysis of floating platforms, complicated components and
structural connections.
WAMIT
WAMIT is a wave hydrodynamic analysis tool widely used in the offshore
industry for the motion analysis of floating platforms and computation
of hydrodynamic forces.
ABAQUS
ABAQUS is a FEA tool for analyzing structure nonlinear behavior including
large displacement, material non-linearity and structural dynamics.
A complete set of ABAQUS post-processing programs, special
subroutines and user elements were developed by ODI for advanced riser
global or component nonlinear analysis.
Shear
7
Shear 7 is widely used in the offshore industry for riser/tendon VIV
fatigue analysis.
HARP/Winpost
HARP/WinPost is an integrated time-domain program for coupled hull/mooring/riser
analysis, jointly developed by Texas A&M University and Ocean Dynamics
Inc. The core of the program WINPOST is originally developed by a JIP
(Joint Industry Program). Design and analysis tools for hull, mooring
systems, risers, and piles were added to build components for a coupled
system. HARP provides a user-friendly Windows-based interface to link
each module together and perform the coupled hydrodynamic analysis of
offshore platforms. Advanced visualization and post-processing utilities
are also available in HARP.
Misc.
Utility Programs
Other in-house developed programs include structural design utility
programs, structural analysis pre and post processing programs, buckling
check and fatigue analysis programs, etc
